牠看起來很淡定，像一隻剛好路過、剛好躺下、剛好把頭轉向旁邊的貓。
牛排在鍋裡滋滋作響，香氣一層一層往外冒。牠卻假裝沒有興趣，眼神飄向遠方， 身體攤得很鬆，彷彿正在思考貓生大事：今天的地板溫度、窗外的風， 以及人類為什麼總是把好吃的東西放在牠暫時夠不到的地方。
但別被牠騙了。那不是放空，那是偵查。那不是休息，那是埋伏。 那不是不看牛排，那是用餘光建立完整作戰地圖。
牠知道鍋在哪裡，知道人在哪裡，也知道最佳出爪時機還沒到。真正的高手從不急著出手， 牠只是把慾望藏進一個很優雅的轉頭裡。
等人類稍微分心，等夾子放下，等牛排離開鍋子的那一秒，這場沉默的等待就會進入下一階段。

He looks calm, like a cat who just happened to pass by, just happened to lie down, and just happened to turn his head away.
The steak is sizzling in the pan, sending waves of smoky, buttery aroma into the air. Yet he pretends not to care. His gaze drifts elsewhere. His body stays loose against the cool tile, as if he is contemplating serious feline matters: the temperature of the floor, the breeze outside, and why humans insist on placing delicious things slightly out of reach.
